History of Ganoderma

The history of Ganoderma Lucidum dates as far back as 5,000 years ago. Ancient records show the herb prized by emperors for its miraculous benefits. People traveled high up the mountains and deep into forests just to harvest this rare herb. In Chinese folklore, a man named Pengzou who lived for hundreds of years with the face of a child owed his youthfulness to Ganoderma Lucidum.

Famous herbalist Shen Nong tested hundreds of herbs and classified Ganoderma Lucidum as the highest ranking. His "Herbal Classic" is considered to be the earliest manuscript on Chinese Medicine and is still the foundation of traditional Chinese Medicine.
